Why specializing makes sense to me.

by Doreen
(Ottawa, Canada)

I am just starting out as a home based travel consultant and believes that specializing is the best way to go. It allows me to market and sell a destination that I am passionate about and has superior knowledge of.

The packages that I will create for that destination will be unique, thus immediately making me the sole distributor; eliminating any competition. Customers for my particular destination will range from leisure to business travellers, as well as groups, (three market segments within one market!).

This form of business gives my travel company direction, in terms of marketing and will allow long term profitable relations with the suppliers I will be dealing with; this is very important if I want to have competitive rates.

PLUS: It is FUN selling something you personally love and is interested in!!!
